DSG service at the main dealer was 3 months (~1700 miles before the trouble started) ago .. got it done slightly early as the car was in for a service anyway. Hmmm, a bit suspicious that I'd have a potential gearbox problem so soon after a DSG oil change but nothing I can prove, I would guess.
AWD clutch: Change fluid (if equipped) Every 3 years (AWD only vehicles) 3 years after initial registration, then every 2 years, regardless of Brake fluid: Change mileage At 150,000 miles, then every 20,000 miles Coolant pump toothed belt: Check (*1.4L Jetta only)

40*C is 104*F. On a warm or hot day running the new oil for few minutes should be good. You should have the fluid hot before you drain it anyway. I own a 2010 petrol Skoda Octavia VRS DSG with 20,000 miles on the clock. I have read your reports that the gearbox oil and filter should be changed every 3-4 years, but my local dealer says I should wait until 40,000 miles.
Every 2 years or 40,000 miles: Dust and pollen filter: Replace (if applicable) Every 2 years, regardless of mileage: Tire filler bottle in the tire mobility kit: Check (observe expiration date) (if applicable) At the 3 year mark, then every 2 years regardless of miles driven: Brake fluid and clutch unit: Replace fluid.
1. Jack up the car and support the car on jack stands on all 4 corners. The car should have a slight tilt towards the AFT. This will permit a slightly higher amount of oil to be poured through the filler hole. 2. This is the gearbox’s sump: The filler hole up close: And the drain hole:
Your first oil change service at the earliest would be at one year or as soon as you reach 10,000 miles if sooner. If you mean that you bought the 3 year service plan from VW UK at the time of buying the new car then it will operate on the basis of a service once a year or each 10,000 miles finishing at 3 years or 30,000 miles if earlier.

I would prefer an independent shop but 3 of them wanted $45-$65 more than the $169 the dealer charges, plus I have a coupon for an additional $15 off. Stay safe!.
This refers to the viscosity of the oil. The first number is the cold weather viscosity, so a 5W-40 oil has been tested down to -35C and will not get thicker at that temperature than a "5". The 40 is the hot number, so a 5W40 oil would never get thinner than "40" as tested at 100C (approx running temp of your engine).
The service book for my 2010 CR170 DSG is the same; there's no tick box for the DSG oil change on any of the service record pages. If you speak to SEAT UK they should be able to tell you about any work your car has had done at any of their dealers. As said £150 is good for the DSG oil change if they're using genuine VW oil as that's expensive
Two schools of thought here. After the synthetic/mineral debacle some VAG dealers took the view that the dry clutch 7-speed DSG needed an oil change every 40,000 miles, but the official Volkswagen line is that they don't. The 6-speed wet clutch DSG is a maintenance box and does need fresh oil and filter every 40,000 miles.
My dealer confirmed no change and I also paid for access to the VW technical manual and that said only to replace oil if there has been a repair to the gearbox. Having paid £400 for a 50k mile gearbox oil change on a previous non VW car, it didn't actually make a difference to the life of the gearbox - most seemed to fail around 120k miles
Maintenance. I have a 2017 gti and did my dsg oil and filter today using the measure and top fill method and the car drained 5.7 liters out! Not sure if thats a normal amount or if it was overfilled previously. I read it should drain between 4.5-4.7 liters. I ended up filling it back up with about 5.2 liters because I saw the dsg capacity is 5. Hi everyone. I've got 2.0 diesel Transporter with a 7 speed DSG gearbox. Its done 36k miles and was due for gearbox oil service. I've changed the oil filter and drained 6 litres of oil in total from drain plug and mechatronics unit. I've filled it with 6.8 litres of oil and during leveling procedure ( van is level, oil temp at 40C,taken with Not sure on this vehicle but if you type in YouTube VW DSG oil change you will get a feel of the process and know if you feel comfortable enough or not. Your customers may not realize what maintenance the six-speed DSG DQ250 transmission in their Volkswagen or Audi vehicle requires. Besides the transmission maintenance recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, including oil and filter changes every five years or after 35,000 miles, there are also some weak points that frequently ***** MQ35 box PDT, PFL, PFN, PGT, PNS (6 speed) G052 171 A2 = 70W75 fully synthetic considered by VW to be a lifetime fill, but in some cases VW upgraded to the high performance oil below. G052 527 A2 = considered by VW to be a high performance 75W fully synthetic gear oil, better withstanding cold and high temperatures.
Like the rear bevel box, it takes a 75w90 GL-5 gear oil. Using Amsoil Severe Service 75w90 Brake fluid: Initial is 3 years, then every 2 thereafter. Needs a Low Viscosity DOT4 fluid. Haldex, VW changed the interval to iirc, every 4 years. But most go by mileage, so recommended 40,000 miles. G055 or G060 fluid. There is a filter that VW does not
